At work, you run the place. At home, your kids are fed, loved, and where they need to be. But the second your ex's name shows up on your phone, the woman who handles everything goes weak in the knees. Nobody at your job would believe what you put up with behind the curtain.
Head of your class at work, running the floor, the department, or the whole business, and everyone there thinks you have it handled.
You show up, hold it down, and do the work of two parents on the days you have them.
Your ex is lying to your kids, wrecking your holidays, and you feel like nothing you do will ever change it.
You have no idea who you are anymore. And you keep waiting for the kids to turn 18 to find out.
These photos come from Sam's January retreat in Costa Rica, where 24 women spent five days in workshops, poolside Q&As, and dinners that ran long past the plates being cleared. November goes deeper: 12 spots instead of 24, with a licensed therapist living in the villa with you all week.
Workshops run in the morning while your brain is fresh, afternoons stay open for 1:1 sessions, the pool, the beach, and the town, and evenings wind down in pajamas with tea and Q&A. Sam and our licensed therapist Jami lead all ten workshops together.
Land, meet your driver, and exhale. Unpack, open your welcome gifts, see the town, and meet your roommates. Welcome dinner, tea, and the first night of getting to know eleven women who have lived your Tuesday.
Before you learn a single new skill, you put down the guilt. We start with the woman who survived, then get into the science of what high conflict does to your body, and how to take your nervous system back from your ex.
Your home can feel safe no matter what happens at the other house. We cover leading instead of competing to be the favorite parent, and exactly what to say (and never say) when your kids come home carrying his words. Then our first excursion.
Your joy stops depending on the parenting schedule. We take the holidays back, design your family's next twelve months of traditions, and start building the woman your children will remember. Second excursion, then we go out on the town.
Your life does not begin when your kids turn 18. A panel of women who rebuilt after their own worst chapters, a workshop on trusting yourself again, and a final experience for helping your children feel safe. Then the closing ceremony you will never forget.
Breakfast, hugs, and a ride to the airport. You walk off that plane carrying yourself differently, and everyone at pickup is going to notice.
Twelve women, one stunning villa, zero strangers down the hall. Private pool, sauna, a dedicated yoga studio, a chef's kitchen you never have to cook in, and cozy corners built for the conversations that change you. You wake up to this every morning for five days.
Private pool, sauna, a dedicated yoga studio, and views from your room. The whole place is ours for the week.
Every meal cooked for you, every day, with groceries, snacks, and dietary needs covered. You will not lift a pan for five days.
Direct time with Samantha Boss on your specific coparenting situation, one on one, with strategy built for the ex you have.
Every woman gets a private healing session with our licensed therapist. This is the session women describe as life changing, and it is included.
Led by Sam and Jami together, with scripts, tools, and strategy for your ex, your kids, and yourself.
Yoga every morning in the villa's studio, with intentions set for that day's work. Your nervous system will thank you.
You are in Costa Rica. We are going to act like it. Two group adventures out in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Met at the airport, driven to the villa, driven back. You will never navigate a foreign country alone. We land together, we ride together.
Welcome gifts waiting in your room and a beautiful spiral-bound workbook with every lesson, prompt, and intention from the week. It goes home with you.
What's not included: your flight to Costa Rica (most women spend around $2,000 round trip) and travel insurance, which we strongly recommend and will point you to. Everything else, from the moment you land to the moment you leave, is covered.
Certified Divorce Mediator and the woman behind The Ugly Truth of Divorce. Sam has helped thousands of parents stop reacting and start leading against a high-conflict ex. She built this retreat around one question: who do you become by the time you get back on the plane?
Jami is living her own high-conflict divorce, so nothing you bring her will shock her. She customizes every session on the spot to what your body and story actually need. Women who work with her once come back for more, because it works.
Sarah has run retreats around the world and has driven Costa Rica more times than she can count. She interviews every woman 1:1, matches roommates by hand, coordinates every airport pickup and drop-off, and handles the travel details so the only thing you plan is your outfit for dinner.
You don't come to a retreat like this to be fixed or changed. You come to be reminded of who you already are. The space is intentional, safe, and deeply held. Nothing feels rushed or performative. You're met exactly where you are, without pressure to show up any differently than you can. You leave feeling more connected to yourself, to your body, and to God. A little lighter. A little clearer. A little more free.
"The way you intentionally built each of us up was beautiful to witness and to receive. I sat back and watched how you spoke directly to the insecurities so many different women carried, and then watched some of them begin to overcome those very things. Your strength is contagious."
"It was nice to feel seen, heard, supported, and safe. Everyone was uplifting, and everyone held space for one another. Even on the first meeting it already felt like we knew each other. More of a reunion than strangers meeting for the first time."
"I was just reflecting on how you took my hand and helped me on the hike to the waterfall. I never felt ashamed of needing help. I came home using all the things we reflected on."
"You will get out what you put in. The location, the hosts, the workshops, all of it is amazing. If you want to grow, you will. It's worth letting go and being open to the change."
Every spot includes everything: the villa, the chef, the workshops, the 1:1s, the excursions, the transportation, all of it. The only difference is your room.
Twelve women will live in one villa for five days and do real work. Every single one of them deserves a room full of women who are ready. So we screen. It takes five minutes, and it protects your experience.
A short application, about five minutes. Honest questions about where you are, so we can protect the room.
If you're a fit, you go straight to choosing your room and locking your spot. If it's not your season yet, we'll point you to the right next step. No hard feelings, ever.
Pay in full or start your payment plan, and one welcome email lands with everything you need: dates, packing list, travel insurance options, and next steps.
You're invited into our private group and book your 1:1 with Sarah. Group calls before the trip mean you walk into that villa already knowing everyone.
Straight talk: if you are still in the middle of your divorce, this retreat is not for you yet, and that is on purpose. You cannot rebrand while the old chapter is still being written. When it's final, we will be here, and you will get so much more out of it.
The application takes about five minutes.
We knew you'd ask, because we've lived it. At the January retreat, every woman in a high-conflict situation made it there. Some swapped weekends, some leaned on family, and some followed exactly what their parenting plan already allowed.
When you enroll, Sam and the team will help you work out the logistics, including the exact words to use if you need to request a swap with your ex. First step: read your parenting plan and see what it says about travel and trading time. You are not doing this part alone.
You will never be alone in Costa Rica. All airport transportation is included, coming and going. Women land around the same time and ride to the villa together, so the sisterhood starts at baggage claim. Sarah has driven Costa Rica many times and has every logistic mapped. If you want to arrive a day early or stay after, she'll send you her recommended hotels.
They won't be strangers by the time you get there. Sarah interviews every woman 1:1 before the retreat and matches roommates by hand: morning people with morning people, moms of littles with moms of littles, introverts with introverts. You'll meet everyone on group calls and in our private community before you ever pack a bag. And if sharing a bathroom is a hard no for you, that is exactly what the private rooms are for.
There isn't one. All sales are final, no exceptions, and you'll confirm that before you pay. The retreat is four months out and every spot we hold is a spot another woman doesn't get. Protect yourself with travel insurance. Sarah will send you her trusted recommendations as soon as you enroll.
Yes. You can pay in full or split your spot into up to 4 payments. The price is the same either way, and your first payment locks your spot.
Yes. If your divorce is final and you're navigating a high-conflict ex or coparenting situation, you belong here. Remarried women and stepmoms came to the January retreat too, and nobody got sideways looks for what her life looks like now, because the wound underneath is the same one.
Not this one, and we say that with love. This retreat is built for the woman whose divorce is done, because you cannot rebrand while you're still in the fight. If you're mid-divorce, Sam has the exact tools you need right now: the workshop, the masterclass, and the community. Start there. This retreat will be here when your chapter closes.
Phones stay out of group settings and workshops, full stop. This is one of our retreat commitments, because every woman in that villa deserves to share her story without wondering if she's being recorded. You'll have plenty of time to check in with your kids during afternoon downtime. What you won't have is your ex's texts hijacking your healing.
Not much, and Sarah will send you a complete packing list well before the trip. Think workout clothes for yoga, a swimsuit, active wear for excursions, a few dinner dresses, and comfy clothes for pajama nights. Towels are provided. The list, the room assignments, and every detail arrive in one organized welcome email, because you're a grown woman and you don't need 75 emails.
Five days in Costa Rica with eleven women who get it, tools that hold up back home, and a version of you your children will remember and your ex won't recognize.
